Frost heaves and mud

I thought I was going to pop a cork or blow out my knees last night when I rode down the dirt road to my house. The ground has started to thaw and my tires were sinking down to the rims. I had to stay on my 46t chain ring given how slow I was going which meant for some heavy mashing. My heart rate spiked up to over 180bpm. Yikes! This morning the road was frozen solid, which made for easier travel to the main road.

The warming trend is also causing the roads to heave and break up. This is giving my shocks a good work out. I think they are about due for replacement, but I will wait until the roads settle down a bit.

Other than the rough and tough riding, the sky has cleared up nicely following last nights heavy rain and freezing rain. The air temperature was 27F and the Mango cockpit was 52F.

Spring is definitely just around the corner.

Enjoy!
